Materials and colors

Why can colors look different from what I see on my screen?

Colors can always vary slightly from what you see on your phone, tablet, or computer screen. This applies to every material, not just latex. Every screen has different settings for brightness, contrast, and color rendering. Lighting conditions, camera flash, and the natural shine of latex can also make a color look different. Latex is also a glossy material, so the same color can look slightly different in daylight, artificial light, or in a photo.
 

Can latex gloves discolor?

Yes. Just like latex clothing, they can discolor due to sunlight, UV light, heat, unsuitable care products, metals, perfume, smoke, oil, or contact with certain plastics. Lighter and transparent colors are usually more sensitive to discoloration than darker colors.
 

Are the gloves made of natural latex?

Yes, these long gloves are made of 100% natural latex. Natural latex is elastic, strong, and has that recognizable latex look and feel. Please note: natural latex can cause an allergic reaction in some people.
 

Can I wear these gloves if I have a latex allergy?

No. If you have a latex allergy or suspect you may be sensitive to natural latex, do not wear these gloves. If in doubt, it's best to seek medical advice first. Stop wearing them immediately if you experience itching, redness, a rash, shortness of breath, swelling, or other symptoms.
 

Can latex tear?

Yes, latex is elastic and strong, but not indestructible. Sharp nails, jewelry, rings, rough edges, pulling too hard, or putting them on incorrectly can cause small tears. Check your nails and jewelry before putting the gloves on.
 

Sizing

How do I choose the right size?

Measure your hand and arm carefully and compare your measurements with the size chart. The size chart provides guidance, but always remains a general recommendation. No rights can be derived from it.
Every hand and arm is different. Some people have longer fingers, others shorter fingers, wider hands, narrower wrists, more muscular forearms, or a different fat distribution.
Preferably measure both hands and arms. Your dominant hand and arm may be slightly fuller, stronger, or more muscular. As a result, a glove may fit more snugly on the right hand or arm than on the left, or vice versa if you're left-handed.
 

Should latex gloves fit tightly?

Latex gloves may fit nicely close to the skin, but they should never be painfully tight or restrictive. So don't buy them too small. Gloves that are too tight can cause discomfort, tingling fingers, numb hands, pressure marks, a numb feeling in the fingers, hands, or arms, and sometimes even headaches or tension. If this happens: take them off. Wearing latex gloves is always at your own risk.
 

Why does the same size fit differently between brands?

Unfortunately, there is no universal standard size for latex gloves (or clothing). A size M, L, or XL therefore doesn't automatically mean exactly the same thing at every brand.
Every manufacturer uses their own molds, own sizes, and own proportions. A size L from one brand can therefore fit differently than a size L from another brand.
 

Why does a latex glove never fit everyone perfectly?

Latex gloves are made on a mold made of hard material. A human hand and arm are of course very different: warm, soft, flexible, and unique in shape for everyone.
A mold has fixed fingers, fixed widths, and fixed lengths. Your hand and arm may differ from that. As a result, a glove may fit perfectly in some areas and feel slightly looser or tighter in others.
 

Is the size chart binding?

No. The size chart only provides non-binding guidance. No rights can be derived from it. You are responsible yourself for choosing the right size. Fit is very personal.
 

Can I return the gloves if they don't fit?

No. Latex gloves are hygiene-sensitive products. The gloves are always shipped sealed. Once a package is opened, the seal is broken and they can no longer be returned. If the seal is not broken, you can return them. So always measure carefully before you order.

Wearing latex gloves

Are long latex gloves suitable to sleep in?

We advise against wearing latex gloves for long periods or while sleeping, especially if they fit tightly.
While sleeping, you're less likely to notice if something is pinching or tingling. This can be uncomfortable for your fingers, hands, or arms. So wear latex consciously and take the gloves off as soon as they no longer feel comfortable.
 

What should I do if my fingers start tingling?

Take the gloves off immediately. Tingling fingers, a numb feeling, pain, pressure, or discoloration can be signs that the gloves fit too tightly or that blood circulation is being restricted.
 

What's the best way to put on long latex gloves?

Use enough talcum powder or a suitable silicone lubricant. Roll the glove up to the fingers. Pull gently and don't force anything. Carefully push your fingers into the fingers of the glove and roll the glove gently over your hand and arm.
Don't pull hard on one small piece of latex, as this can stretch or damage the material. Instead, work bit by bit.
 

Caring for latex gloves

Can I use oil, body lotion, or perfume with latex?

No, preferably not. Avoid oil, greasy creams, body lotion, perfume, silicone products, and aggressive substances on or under latex. These can damage the material.
Only use products suitable for latex.
 

How do I clean the latex gloves?

Treat the gloves the same way as latex sheets or other latex clothing.
 

Do I need to wash and dry the inside as well?

Yes, absolutely. The inside needs to dry just as well as the outside.
If moisture remains inside the glove and you store them, mold can develop. So always let the gloves dry completely, both inside and outside, before storing them.
 

What's the best way to store latex gloves?

Store latex gloves clean and dry. Use talcum powder (not baby powder) to prevent the latex from sticking to itself.
Store latex in a dark, cool, and dry place. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, damp rooms, and contact with metals such as copper, brass, or nickel. These can cause discoloration or damage.
 

Can I make latex gloves shiny myself?

Yes. After washing and drying, you can treat the outside with a suitable latex shine product. Only use products intended for latex. Don't use regular oil or household products. So use brands such as ViviShine, BeGloss, SlipperyBiz, and Pjur.
 

Other questions

Are the latex gloves powdered?

LatexRepair's latex gloves are powdered with talcum powder to prevent them from sticking together and to make them easier to put on. Due to storage in our warehouse, we're generous with the talcum powder.
Do you feel there's too much powder on them? Then you can carefully wash the gloves, let them dry thoroughly, and treat them afterward however you prefer.
 

Are the gloves chlorinated?

No, our latex gloves are not chlorinated or specially treated. You receive the material exactly as we receive it from the manufacturer ourselves.
If you want to have latex chlorinated, that's something you would need to arrange externally yourself. We don't do this on request.
 

Are latex gloves suitable for everyone?

No. Latex gloves are not suitable for people with a latex allergy or sensitivity to natural latex. In addition, people with sensitive skin, poor circulation, nerve conditions, or medical issues may experience discomfort from tight-fitting clothing or gloves more quickly. If in doubt: don't wear them, or seek advice from a doctor first.
