Tip 1: Forget About Size S, M or XL!
Here's a little surprise from the fashion world: there is no universal size S, M or XL! What is a size M for one brand may be an L or even an S for another. Manufacturers, countries and brands all use their own sizing charts.

Tip 2: Keep Your Original Patterns Safe
It can be tempting to cut directly into the original pattern... but don't! 😄 Instead, use transparent pattern paper to trace the pattern. This keeps the original intact and allows you to experiment with different sizes and modifications without starting over every time. Your future self will thank you.
Tip 3: Want to Take Pattern Making to the Next Level?
Our patterns are intended as an excellent starting point. If you want to make major modifications or create completely original designs, we highly recommend taking a pattern-making course. You'll learn the techniques used by professionals and gain much more freedom in your designs.
